Our Mission
QSO is founded to build an inclusive community where diverse minds converge, collaborate, and thrive in the exploration of quantum sciences, applications, and information. Through engaging activities and a supportive network, we inspire lifelong learning, foster professional growth, and embrace the forefront of quantum advancements.
”Our History
Founded Summer 2023
QSO was founded at Purdue University by enthusiastic undergraduate students who wanted to help others get involved in quantum sciences. What started as a small group has grown into a vibrant community with ties to Purdue's top research institutions and communities around the world.

QSO students celebrate after teaching quantum levitation demo at the 2023 Purdue Quantum Open House.

QSO students participate in an interactive activity about quantum levitation with Professor Alex Ma.

Meet Our Team
Introducing QSO's active leadership team for the current academic year.

President
Ryan Manley
WebsiteRyan is a junior EE student at Purdue and President of the Quantum Student Organization. As an OQI Fellow and researcher in the Nanometa Group at Birck, he explores crystal synthesis, 2D materials, nanophotonics, and device fabrication across the intersection of condensed matter physics and optics. Last summer he brought that curiosity to Oak Ridge National Laboratory, working on quantum sensing as part of the Quantum Heterostructures Group. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Quantum Coalition, leading their learning resources project. Outside the lab, he loves to hike and bike, stargaze, play movie and anime soundtracks on the piano, and spend time with friends over board games.

Vice-President
Sanjith Jothi Bala
Sanjith is a sophomore double major in CS and Physics, serving as the Vice-President of the Quantum Student Organization of Purdue. He is passionate about ensuring students interested in Quantum Technology/Computing have an opportunity to explore their interests with hands-on applications through collaborative projects and research connections.

Treasurer
Aritro Chatterjee
Aritro is a sophomore majoring in Applied Physics at Purdue University, serving as the Treasurer of the Quantum Student Organization. He manages the club's finances, budgets, and funding proposals to support events, outreach, and initiatives that build interest in quantum science across campus. Outside of QSO, he conducts research in quantum computing and machine learning under Dr. Arnab Banerjee, focusing on simulations of frustrated lattice models and defects.
